The collaborative project, Deforestation, of Our Earth serie, has the primary purpose of contribute to the generation of an environmental awareness in students, based on the knowledge of its natural and social environment and in the development of scientific competences, the formation of values and attitudes that foster responsible behaviour to participate in the conservation and care of the environment.

Is based on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of United Nations, specifically in 15th, with the purpose of "sustainably manage forests, fight against desertification, stop and reverse the degradation of the Earth and stop the loss of biodiversity” 1.

Likewise, it is related to others SDG in this order:

    Objective 1. No Poverty (goal 1.5).
    Objective 2. Zero hunger (goal 2.4).
    Objective 3. Good health and wellbeing (goal 3.9).
    Objective 4. Quality education (goal 4.7).
    Objective 6. Water cleaning and sanitation (goal 6.6).
    Objective 12. Responsible Consumption and Protection (goal 12.8).
    Objective 13. Action for the weather (goal 13.3).

The project is aimed to students from 10 to 15 years old.

The activities will be carried out through collaborative work between groups of students from Mexico and other countries, as a strategy to work in multi-cultural environments, and at the same time, analyze social problems as environmental deterioration, from a local and global perspective.

NOTE: to sensitize the students on the subject, it is recommended to see the following fragment of the movie HOME, a film whose main purpose is to raise public awareness about the state of their planet and make its habitants change their way of life adopting a more respectful behavior.
